With the Compaq NC6132 Gigabit Module, Compaq offers the industry's first and only modular approach to add a gigabit network connection to servers without having to replace the NIC. The NC6132 adds a gigabit port to an existing dual 10/100 NIC in the server to provide three high-speed network connections through one server slot. The NC6132 is a 1000 SX Upgrade Module for the NC3131 Fast Ethernet NIC. This upgrade module provides a scaleable transition from Ethernet to Fast Ethernet or Bonded Fast Ethernet to Gigabit.
